Sportswear quality from the RSJ 5/1 EL

When things get hot in sport the equipment becomes a partner. In particular the clothing ensures comfort and improves performance with its intelligent constructions and functional materials – a trend which the product developers promote by continually renewing the design. The sample on this passage features an innovative example of how to manage moisture and heat in a textile way. The fabric was developed by KARL MAYER.
The functional basis of the Rascheltronic® quality for the back section of a sports shirt is a large-area mesh segment with a variable pore design. The ground structure features small, fine-mesh openings and additionally offers dimensional stability, but mainly the appropriate air exchange to regulate the moisture and heat. Running sideways, the mini-check pattern changes over into elongated mesh cells – to increase the breathable area at points particularly exposed to sweating, e.g. under the arms.
Seamlessly inserted pattern elements which stand out effectively against the open-structure zones as a result of their dense stitch structure contribute style and variation to the functional design. Thus broad stripes with a narrow open-work filling follow the outline of the shoulder blades, change their direction when coming up against the adjacent design element, and are directed sideways and downwards at an acute angle.
Another dense construction has a fine rib structure and a soft, homogeneous handle. The openwork stripy effect rises like a flat-topped mountain as far as the shoulder blades into the breathable zone and additionally forms a trapezium with the slogan 'Sports'. As all the other design elements, the letters are worked directly into the sports shirt during manufacture – the result of the extraordinary production level of the RSJ 5/1 EL. The Rascheltronic® with its high flexibility and speed has created a differential-density sportswear fabric through the transposition of different jacquard patterns using the facilities of the EL control system.
